A Moss Covered Root

My heart is a moss covered root in the ground

But you have brought the dew back down

It’s bursting more greener than ever thought’ would

Spring come forth

New life through the ground

Spring come forth

See what we’ve found

Mixed with the dirt of my sins of my past

Now life more full that will last

It’s bursting more greener than ever thought’ would

Spring come forth

New life through the ground

Spring come forth

See what we’ve found

Flowers are budding colors of sound

Sing to our lovers all those around

It’s bursting more greener than ever thought’ would

Spring come forth

New life through the ground

Spring come forth

See what we’ve found

The Slow Steady Change

The Yellow leaves form green shadows,

As the slow steady change settles in

Through seasons of rust, rips, and pains

We have come to fall upon this place

With hope that nothing will remain the same

For after us follows the potential to grow

Through our mistakes, failures learned

A generation will arrive at our embrace

Knowing much, but to experience far more

We shall lead forth, the first leaves of fall

Till the last colors fad to winter’s whites,

Through spring’s rupture in brilliant birth pains

We come in steady, slow, memorably, ways.
